| Calvin Calvin turned 8 this year and became a 2nd year elementary student (i.e., he's in the second grade, but that's not how they say it in Japan). |

One day, I had to pick up B at Yochien. On the way back, we passed Calvin's school just as classes were let out. So we walked awhile with Cal and his school friends. That's Cal hiding behind Michelle's stroller, and the B bringing up the rear. In the picture below, you can see astonishing variety of designs and colors of the 'randoseru' (book bags) the kids are wearing. *Sigh* See Calvin's page, '97 for a fuller explanation of the randoseru phenomenon. |
